Terms of Service

Terms for using HackerTube Explorer, an independent guide to HackerTube-related video recommendations.

Last updated: 2026-11-03

The service

HackerTube Explorer is an independent, source-attributed guide for discovering a curated selection of videos discussed on Hacker News and associated with Andrej Karpathy’s HackerTube project. It is not the official HackerTube product and is not affiliated with Hacker News, YouTube, or the creators of the videos linked from this site.

The public catalogue is intended to make discovery calmer and more contextual: entries may include editorial notes, topic groupings, collections, and a link to the original discussion that informed their inclusion.

Using the catalogue

You may browse and share links to public pages for personal, educational, or internal research use. Please do not use the site in a way that disrupts its operation, bypasses access controls, misrepresents the source of content, or infringes another party’s rights.

Catalogue descriptions and editorial context are provided for general discovery purposes. We aim to keep source attribution useful and accurate, but we do not guarantee that every linked video, discussion, count, or external page remains available or unchanged.

Third-party content and links

Videos, Hacker News discussions, channels, trademarks, and other third-party material remain subject to the rights and rules of their respective owners and platforms. A link from HackerTube Explorer does not mean that we control, endorse, or are responsible for the external destination.

When you leave this site through a source link, the external site’s terms and privacy policy apply.

Accounts and optional features

Some features may require an account, including saved items, support requests, or contributor workflows. Keep your account credentials confidential and provide accurate information when using these features. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.

We may suspend or limit access to an account or feature when necessary to protect the site, investigate abuse, or enforce these terms.

Contributions and guest posts

If guest-post submissions are enabled, you are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and rights clearance of material you submit. Do not submit content that is unlawful, deceptive, infringing, malicious, or intended to manipulate readers or search engines.

Submission does not guarantee publication. Contributions can be reviewed, returned for changes, rejected, or removed in line with the published guest-post workflow. Paid or sponsored external links are identified and treated accordingly.

Optional paid features

If an optional paid feature is offered, the displayed package, price, payment provider, and any applicable terms shown during checkout control that purchase. Payments are processed through the chosen provider. Unless a separate written refund policy applies, any refund decision is handled through the relevant feature workflow and provider requirements.

Intellectual property

HackerTube Explorer’s original selection, presentation, editorial copy, and site design are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Do not copy substantial portions of the catalogue or site presentation for a competing service without permission.

Third-party names and marks are used only to identify the sources and services discussed on the site. They belong to their respective owners.

Availability and changes

We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of HackerTube Explorer as the catalogue and product evolve. We may also update these terms; the “Last updated” date above indicates the most recent revision.
